FDOT Section 5: Public Information Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday, May 23

May 2017

On behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), we invite you and your constituents to a public information meeting regarding the Wekiva Parkway Section 5 construction project in Lake County. The public meeting is being held to review the construction plans and schedule.

Section 5 entails removing about a mile of County Road (C.R.) 46A out of the Seminole State Forest to reduce collisions between vehicles and wildlife. The project involves realigning C.R. 46A for 2.5 miles from north of Arundel Way to connect to State Road (S.R.) 429 east of Camp Challenge Road. Work will include making a new signalized, T-intersection between the realigned C.R. 46A and S.R. 46. The project also includes road widening, installing medians, and building a multi-use trail along part of S.R. 46.

The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 23, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Camp Challenge located at 31600 Camp Challenge Road, Sorrento, Florida 32776. The meeting is an informal open house where plans will be available for review and project staff will be available to address questions.

We invite your participation and welcome your comments on the construction plans. Persons with disabilities who require accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services, free of charge, should contact Mary Brooks, Public Information Officer, by phone at 407-694-5505, or by email at info@wekivaparkway.com, at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting.  If you are hearing or speech impaired, please contact us by using the Florida Relay Service, 1-800-955-8771 (TDD) or 1-800-955-8770 (Voice).
