SANFORD, FL – Crews are scheduled on February 11 to begin driving bridge piles at Orange Boulevard south of State Road (S.R.) 46 as part of building the Wekiva Parkway (S.R. 429). The pile driving for the parkway bridge over the side street near Wayside Drive will last for a number of months.
While steps will be taken to minimize the impact of construction to the surrounding community, nearby residents can expect some level of noise and other impacts throughout the course of this work. Please note this schedule could change due to weather or other unexpected conditions. Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction area for their safety and that of the work crews.
The work is being done as part of building Wekiva Parkway Section 7A. Work on this stretch along S.R. 46 from Longwood-Markham Road to Orange Boulevard began on April 1, 2018, and is scheduled to finish in 2022.
