Weekend Traffic Shifts Planned on S.R. 46

January 16, 2020

Sanford, Fla. – Motorists and residents will see changes along the Wekiva Parkway project in Lake and Seminole counties as new traffic patterns go into effect this weekend.

In Seminole County, traffic will be shifted temporarily to the north side of the State Road (S.R.) 46 corridor onto the future westbound service road. This shift is scheduled Saturday, Jan. 18, from 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. Those needing access to The Rock Church and LaFleur Nurseries will use Glade View Drive to a section of old S.R. 46 that will remain open. A map reflecting these changes can be found here.

On Sunday, a traffic shift is scheduled to move drivers to one of the new bridges being built across the Wekiva River at the Lake and Seminole county line. This shift is scheduled Sunday, Jan. 19, from 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. Lane closures on S.R. 46 and River Oaks Circle will also be needed during this time to complete the traffic shift. Blue signs will direct residents to where they need to go. A map reflecting these changes can be found here.

Flaggers will also direct traffic during lane closures. Please note construction schedules may change due to weather, or other circumstances.

The Florida Department of Transportation urges all drivers to stay alert and use caution while driving through or near construction zones. When driving, walking, or bicycling, remember to pay attention and follow the rules. Safety doesn’t happen by accident.
