The Florida Department of Transportation is working to enhance safety for those walking and biking along the Wekiva Parkway trail near Camp Challenge Road in Sorrento. FDOT has installed signs and devices reminding drivers to slow down at the trail crossing on State Road (S.R.) 46 near the S.R. 429 interchange.
 
The department recently activated a new pedestrian signal with a flashing beacon that will require drivers to stop for those using the trail crossing. The speed limit in this area will also be reduced to 35 mph.
