Section 8: Nighttime S.R. 429 Ramp Detour

February 7, 2025

The northbound Wekiva Parkway (S.R. 429) on ramp to Interstate 4 (I-4) at Exit 55 will close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11. The ramp will reopen by 6 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12. During this time, motorists will be directed to use Exit 54 at Rinehart Road as a detour route to eastbound and westbound I-4. This temporary closure will allow crews to paint a high-mast light.

Motorists are encouraged to plan for additional travel time, follow the posted detour signs, and drive with caution in the area.

Nighttime ramp closure on S.R. 429 off ramp at Exit 44

January 24, 2025

The northbound Wekiva Parkway (State Road (S.R.) 429) off ramp at Exit 44 will be closed from 10 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29 to 5 a.m. on Thursday January 30. During this time, detour signs will guide motorists from S.R. 429 Exit 39 onto northbound S.R. 453, leading to eastbound S.R. 46 (Sorrento Avenue). This temporary closure is necessary for crews to install pavement markings on the exit ramp as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety for drivers.

Motorists are encouraged to plan for additional travel time, follow the posted detour signs, and drive with caution in the area. Remember, to “move over” for vehicles on the shoulder. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Section 7A: Nightly S.R. 429 Lane Closures

October 22, 2024

Expect nighttime single-lane closures on EB and WB State Road (S.R.) 429 between Longwood-Markham Road and Orange Boulevard beginning Wednesday, Oct. 23 for bridge maintenance. The work will take place from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights over the next four weeks. Remember, slow down near construction activities.

Nightly road and ramp closures are scheduled from Tuesday, March 12, to Friday, March 15, at State Road (S.R.) 417 and Interstate 4 (I-4). The closures are necessary for bridge work.
