A continuous road closure and detour of Longwood Markham Road at State Road (S.R.) 46 is planned to start as early as 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, as part of the Wekiva Parkway (S.R. 429) project. The closure will be in place for approximately two months.

Section 7B of the Wekiva Parkway (State Road (S.R.) 429) project will move another step closer to its final configuration this week as traffic will be shifted to the newly constructed westbound lanes on S.R. 46.

The opening of the newly constructed westbound lanes, which are about 1.3 miles in length, will create improved access to neighborhoods and businesses on the north side of S.R. 46.

Traffic will be shifted to the new westbound S.R. 46 lanes from Wayside Drive/Oregon Street to Orange Boulevard as early as 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7.

Nightly ramp closures are scheduled Monday, Aug. 2, through Friday, Aug. 6, at State Road (S.R.) 417 and Interstate 4 (I-4). The ramps from westbound I-4 to southbound S.R. 417, International Parkway to southbound S.R. 417, and northbound S.R. 417 to eastbound I-4 and International Parkway/westbound I-4 will be closed for bridge work. The ramps from northbound S.R. 417 to eastbound I-4 and International Parkway/westbound I-4 will be closed on Sunday, Aug. 1.

Please use the following detours:

• Westbound I-4 to southbound S.R. 417 (8 p.m. – 6 a.m.): Use I-4 to County Road (C.R.) 46A to Rinehart Road
• International Parkway to southbound S.R. 417 (8 p.m. – 6 a.m.): Use S.R. 46 or C.R. 46A to Rinehart Road

Also, nightly ramp closures are planned Thursday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 6, at S.R. 46 and I-4. The ramps from eastbound and westbound S.R. 46 to westbound I-4 will be closed from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Use International Parkway to access westbound I-4.

A nighttime detour is planned Sunday, Aug. 1 on International Parkway from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. Use Wilson Road or S.R. 417 for detour. In addition, expect nightly lane closures from Monday, Aug. 2, through Friday, Aug. 6, on International Parkway from S.R. 417 to Wilson Road, 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.
